Sway from MTV just finished catching up with Cash Money’s Birdman on the set of DJ Khaled’s “Take It To The Head” video shoot. Birdman announced that DJ Khaled’s imprint We The Best is now signed with him and Ace Hood will be the first artist to shine.

“I’d like to let the world know that Khaled’s brand, which is We the Best, is officially signed to YMCMB and the first act coming out that umbrella … will be Ace Hood,” Birdman said. “I always wanted to have a chance to work with Ace Hood.”

Baby thinks Ace Hood is a superstar:

“We wanted to do it right, set it up right. I think Ace Hood is a superstar,” the #1 Stunna said. “I love his work ethic, I think he’s a very talented young man and he gonna be a big superstar in this business and I wanted to be the one to help him become that. It was important to me.”

Birdman revealed to XXL that the his Cash Money empire is venturing into films this year with the first project titled Rich Gang. The film will star Lil Wayne and the rest of the YMCMB family. According to Stunna:

“We start shooting that in the fall. That’s the whole team, that’s like a 2012 Balla Blocking. The Rich Gang movie is about the team. Everybody is going to be the star of it, but Wayne will be the center of it. It’s about the team, everybody that’s on the label.

I would like them for just be themselves. I’m not gonna tell no ni**a to go to acting school. Just be yourself. We’re excited as a brand about it. Tyga, everybody is like, ‘Stunna, let’s do a movie.’ We got a few of them lined up and we gonna shoot them.”

Birdman recently chopped it up with Complex to talk about Nicki Minaj, Drake, Lil Wayne, Mystikal and also about the possibility of signing new-comer Chief Keef.

On Signing Chief Keef:

“I like young boy Chief. I think he’s a great young talent. I sent my hand out to him. We’ll see what happens.”

On Letting Nicki Minaj Retire From Music:

“That’s her choice, her decision. I don’t think Nicki is ready to retire. She really just started. I don’t see that in the near future for her at all right now.”

On Drake’s Next Album:

“Drake is one of the most talented people I’ve gotten to know in my life. You never know with Drizzy. Drizzy’s such a special talent. You can expect him to be creative and do something that’s never been done. I think Drake is the future of music.”

On Lil Wayne Having ‘Fell Off’:

“We do music for people who appreciate it. That’s all we can do. Keep working hard, keep grinding. Everybody is entitled to their opinion but we do what we do. We sell millions of records. Ain’t nobody ever put up the numbers we put up. That’s one to a million. That don’t really matter matter.”

On Mystikal Returning To Prison:

“Shit happens, bruh. All I can do and all we can do as a brand is just support him. When a nigga doing time, it’s important that families be there. That’s when you see who means something to you in life, when you down. We gon’ be there with him. We been there before. We know how that go. We do as much music as we can before he go, if he have to go, but besides that, when he come home, it’s right back at it. The same day that concrete touch, the same day we putting out music.”

There obviously is no slowing Birdman down. Cash Money/Young Money is not worried about who to sign, they are just signing everyone. From Mystikal to Limp Bizkit, YMCB are not missing a heartbeat. I have to give it to them though, the way to dominate is to diversify their musical portfolio and to expand and experiment in new genres of music. Not too long ago, Lil Wayne released his Rebirth album, which, in our opinion could have used some of Fred Durst’s help but that was just our opinion.

Now this coming 2012 Birdman wants and I guess plans to drop 16 albums under that YMCMB family umbrella. This goal was revealed to our highly respected friends at XXL during a recent interview. Limp Bizkit was just the beginning and Birdman plans to expand into multiple generes.

“I think bringing Fred and Limp Bizkit to the team gives us a different look,”Birdman told XXL.com. “We dominate rap, but we’re also trying to grow in different areas; Pop, rock, gospel, country. We’re a brand and we don’t want to be categorized as one type of brand. I think we’re a machine and we activate and were active as a machine. I thought this Limp Bizkit move would be big for us as a brand and a machine.”

Limp Bizkit’s first single drops next week and features Lil Wayne.

If you guys are watching the Grammy’s right now like we are, you will notice it’s more like the Country Music Awards. Nothing too great for the hiphop community just yet.

Birdman touches base with MTV and discusses the 17 Grammy nominations for YMCMB and congratulates Kanye West on winning a few Grammy’s.

17, that ain’t like 1, you talking about 17 so it’s always an honor for us to get noticed for the hard work we do, the Grammys they show us love and support. It’s exciting us for us as a brand, and when we all get together it’s just priceless.

Although the Giants won the Super Bowl this pat Sunday, Birdman didn’t lose any money that he was willing to bet. Why you may ask? Well, no one was brave enough to take him up on that bet. 50 Cent at one point looked interested but I guess the deal didn’t work out.

Here is what Birdman tweeted:

Then Dave Mason of BetOnline.com also tried to take Birdman up on his deal and stated that:

“If Birdman is prepared to put his money where his mouth is, we are prepared to accept his $5 million wager on either the point spread or the money line of Super Bowl XLVI”.

This deal didn’t go down either.
