Last June, Drake released a song and video to his, “Marvin’s Room“, which quickly became viral with over 32 million video views on youtube alone. Track depicts a young woman on a phone call with the rapper.
Ericka Lee, who now revealed herself as ex-girlfriend and the voice behind tracks track, has stepped up to challenge Drake on sharing co-writer royalties on one of his biggest tracks ever.
On February 2nd, Lee filed the lawsuit in California federal court claiming the two had both a romantic and business partnership between 2010-2011 and between that time it was said the two traded poems and song lyrics with one another, thus, resulting in the “Marvin’s Room” record.
Last year, Drake allegedly agreed to work with Lee on “Marvin’s Room” and split the proceeds. Lee says she was asked to record the song’s “hook” as well as the opening monologue that would serve as the thematic framework for a song about Drake’s yearning for an ex-girlfriend and how his fame interfered with his love life. “Plaintiff’s contribution is highly significant to the overall work,” says the complaint.

Drake’s Take Care album has been an epic album for 2011 as well as for his career. I think that most of us can agree that his hit track, “The Motto” featuring Lil Wayne has been on repeat on airwaves everywhere. With that being said, Drake’s single “The Motto” has hit the 1 million, platinum mark in sales and also jumped from from 21 to 16 spot on the updated Billboard Hot 100 charts. This is one album none of you should miss out on.

While on set of The Weeknd’s “The Zone“, Nahright caught up with Drake to discuss the “Stay Schemin’‘” diss. Reports circulating that Drake would not respond to Common’s diss have been validated by Nahright.
Here’s his response and justification:
So people want to know: will you respond to Common?
No. Because despite how it’s been worded by him that situation is not a “hip hop moment” or a “battle for the sake of musical integrity”…it’s a ploy for attention around the release of an album. More than anything it was just disappointing cause what kid isn’t a fan of what Common has done for our genre. A guy who made such an incredible career for himself based off expressing genuine feelings about life and love is now targeting me for sharing my story.
He also explains the Vanessa Bryant reference on ‘Stay Schemin’:
There’s a line from your “Stay Schemin” verse about Kobe’s soon to be ex-wife Vanessa that has gotten some negative attention. Can you speak to what you were trying to express with that line?
That line came from a conversation about being this young and making this much money and the fear of losing it all. I just used his potential situation to address my own life. I never intended to offend Vanessa or anyone else. That line had everything to do with me and what goes on in my head as a 25 year old man with this much income flowing in. Kobe is and always will be a friend and an icon to me.

Before all that Young Money Cash Money fame and fortune, Drake was an actor on the Canadian Television show “Degrassi: The Next Generation”. Now being a rapper and all, Drake recently spoke about how he wanted to get back into the acting scene and discussed what sort of role he would like to take on.
During an interview with VH1 at this past Sundance Film Festival, Drake said he’d be interested in portraying Barack Obama on the big screen.
“I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him. That’s the goal. I watch all the addresses. Anytime I see him on TV, I don’t change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I’m pretty good at impressions.”
Is this a role you would see October’s very own portraying?
